Dan Saulpaugh is a singer-songwriter, session guitarist, & music instructor in New York City. Dan is a graduate of The City College of New York’s Jazz Studies program and has spent time studying classical guitar at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. An accomplished artist, his music defies genre by infusing contemporary folk songwriting with a modern jazz sensibility. Dan is an active performer and lifelong learner. His debut EP, Before the Fire Is Gone, is available for purchase on all platforms including Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon.
Saulpaugh's teaching style balances a core technical & theoretical curriculum with a student directed approach. His students are continually asked to define their own practice & performance goals with his guidance. Scales, chords, rhythms, ear training, sight reading, and exposure to a wide range of styles fill out his lessons all while building toward the student's own musical goals.
